Sunview Group Berhad, in consortium with Cypark Renewable Energy Sdn. Bhd., has secured a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from TNB Power Generation Sdn. Bhd. (TNB Genco) for a large-scale floating solar project in Malaysia.

The project involves the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of a 595 MWac floating solar PV plant, integrated with a battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kenyir Lake, Terengganu. With a total contract value of RM1.96 billion, the project represents one of the largest floating solar developments in Malaysia to date.

The consortium, CRE-Sunview, is structured as a joint venture with Cypark holding a 60% stake and Sunview’s subsidiary, Fabulous Sunview Sdn. Bhd., holding 40%. The project is scheduled to commence in June 2026 and is expected to be completed by September 2028. This development reflects Malaysia’s continued progress in scaling up renewable energy capacity, particularly in the floating solar segment, while integrating energy storage to enhance grid reliability.
